The Midland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce hosted the 24th Annual Meeting & Awards Banquet on
Thurs., Oct. 23, 2008 at the Midland County Horseshoe.

During this event Chairman George Lara highlighted the past year’s achievements and also set the plan
for the upcoming year. During the program several chamber members were honored for their service
to the Midland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the community.

Diana Dominguez – Nationwide Insurance was honored as businesswoman of the year,

Kelly Cockerrell – Midland Concierge was honored as businessman of the year,

Maria Elena Duron – Buzz2Bucks was awarded volunteer of the year,

Standard Sales, Co. was awarded corporation of the year and

CBS 7 was honored as media partner of the year.

Dr. Sylvester Perez, MISD Superindendent, delivered the keynote address “Building wealth through education.”
